Ždiar patrí v zimnom období k najvyhľadávanejším miestam aktívneho oddychu vďaka tunajším lyžiarskym strediskám SkiCentrum Strednica, Ski Bachledova a Skicentrum Strachan. Všetky strediská majú lyžiarsku školu, požičovňu lyží, bufety, upravené bežecké trate a skibusy. Medzi najzaujímavejšie patrí bežecká trať po hrebeni Spišskej Magury, ktorou sa dostanete zo Skicentra Strednica do SkiBachledová.
